Ilva van Houwelingen

Process Coordinator Imaging Office, Erasmus MC

Education

  • MSc in Biomedical Engineering (Medical Physics), 2021

    TU Delft/Erasmus MC

Biography

Ilva van Houwelingen is process coordinator of the Imaging Office. She obtained her master degree at BIGR on automated bone age assessment on DXA scans using a deep learning network. After two years of working in an image analysis R&D role for a nuclear medicine company, she returned to work for the Imaging Office.

The Imaging Office

The Imaging Office is an initiative to set up a central organ for services regarding image data, analysis and trial support. There is a close collaboration with the BIGR Infra team and the Imaging Trial Office. Ilva coordinates incoming requests from inside and outside the Erasmus MC. She makes sure the request is being handled by the right person. In this way, the research performed at BIGR can add value for even more (clinical) applications. Since the Imaging Office is a new initiative, Ilva also contributes to professionalization, expansion and gaining more awareness.
