Juancito was born and raised on Aruba, an island in the Caribbean. He moved to The Netherlands in 2015 and obtained his bachelor’s degree in Nanobiology from the TU Delft and Erasmus MC in 2018. After a gap year as board member of the study association of Nanobiology, he pursued a double master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering (Medical Physics track) (TU Delft) and Nanobiology (TU Delft and Erasmus MC), and completed these degrees in 2022 and 2023, respectively. He is currently a PhD candidate at the Radiology and Nuclear Medicine department of the Erasmus MC, as part of the BIGR group as well as the groups of Marion Smits and Pim French. His research focuses on the development of AI techniques to diagnose primary brain tumors non-invasively using advanced MRI data.
