PhD defense Tareq Abdel Alim

Tareq successfully defended his PhD thesis “From Mesh to Meaning: Computational analysis of craniofacial dysmorphologies and surgical interventions” and was awarded a cum laude distinction!!

On October 22, Tareq succesfully defended his PhD thesis: ‘From Mesh to Meaning: Computational analysis of craniofacial dysmorphologies and surgical interventions’. In 2020, he started his Ph.D. at Erasmus University Medical Center within the Department of Neurosurgery and the BIGR of the Department of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, under the supervision of two promotors (Clemens Dirven and Wiro Niessen) and co-promotors (Gennady Roshchupkin and Marie-Lise van Veelen).

He worked on exploring the utilization of 3D imaging for assessing craniosynostosis, focusing on morphological analysis of the neurocranium and the quantification of facial changes in patients with craniosynostosis.
