Biography

Marcel Koek is a Team and Project Leader, Architect and Research Software Engineer in IT infrastructure for large scale image analyses and population imaging projects. He is affiliated with the Biomedical Imaging Group Rotterdam (BIGR) and the Department of Radiology & Nuclear Medicine, Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, NL.

He leads the Infra RSE Team and is the Infrastructure and tech lead of BIGR. Furthermore he is the Medical Imaging Archive Service manager at Health-RI and Euro-BioImaging.

Marcel leads a team of Research Software Engineers that develops software for managing and aiding (large scale) image analysis and cohort based studies. Most of this software is available under an open source license: https://gitlab.com/radiology/infrastructure
