Congratulations Jing Yu and Wietske Bastiaansen for winning 3rd and 1st poster prizes at the AI Accelerator kickoff event!
Last Thursday, January 23, the official kickoff of the Erasmus MC AI Accelerator took place. There were a festive opening with presentations about the AI Accelerator and a poster contest.
The AI Accelerator will do following: building a community by connecting initiatives and people for knowledge sharing; boosting AI literacy together with other parties at Erasmus MC, we will educate staff in the field of AI; developing AI policy by working on creating a central policy for the responsible use of AI in patient care; facilitating technical infrastructure by collaborating with IT and developers to provide the right technical infrastructure for applying AI.
It aims to promote knowledge sharing and connect people. The poster contest at the kickoff event was a great start. Over 30 colleagues participated and presented their work on AI in patient care. The jury, chaired by Gennady Roshchupkin, selected three winners based on methodology, impact, and originality.
From the BIGR, Wietske and Jing won the poster contest; Wietske won the first prize for her work on “Automatic Volumetric Measurements of the Embryo and Head during the First Trimester using Artificial Intelligence: The Rotterdam Periconception Cohort”; Jing won the third prize for her research on “Federated BrainAge estimation from MRI: a proof of concept”.
Their works on AI application are expected to be implemented in practice soon.
