Theo has recently been appointed Professor. Congratulations to Professor Theo van Walsum on this well-deserved promotion!!
Professor Theo van Walsum has been a member of the Biomedical Imaging Group Rotterdam (BIGR) at Erasmus MC since 2005, where he leads the research line on Image guidance in interventions and therapy. His work focuses on improving image guidance methods by integrating detailed pre-operative image information into clinical procedures and advancing navigation technologies for interventional settings.
His research contributions span a range of projects and collaborations in medical imaging, including work on image-guided procedures using modalities such as ultrasound and X-ray, as well as the integration of emerging technologies for clinical use.
In addition to his research activities within BIGR, Prof. van Walsum has been involved in organizing community research initiatives, including scientific challenges and workshops that bring together researchers and clinicians in the field of medical imaging.
